All about Home Learning

What is home learning

Home learning is not the same as ‘home education.’ Our definition is:

“Home learning is everything that children experience with their ‘family’ that positively influences their development and lifelong achievement.”

We know that the experiences you offer your child at home are crucial to later success.

There is so much information available about ‘what’s best’ for children and what we, as parents/carers, should be doing. This can be daunting and cause anxiety. As parents ourselves, we know how hard it can be to find helpful information and support.

We believe that every parent/carer in Norfolk should have the support they need, when they need it, so that they feel they have the skills and resilience to give their children the best possible start in life.

Did you know?
  • The human brain is unfinished at birth. A baby’s brain develops at an astonishing pace; it has only formed by 25% at birth, by the age of three it is 80% developed therefore between birth and three the nurture and motivation we provide our children has a great impact.
  • How parents relate to their children from the moment of birth and the activities they do with them inside and outside the home has a major impact on children’s social, emotional and intellectual development
