We welcomed our OFSTED inspector in for the day on Thursday 13th October 2016 and we spent the day showing her just how ‘GOOD’ we are.

A quote taken directly from our feedback meeting was that “the standard required in order to achieve ‘good’ is now much higher than it was when the setting was last inspected and therefore they should take today’s judgement as a recognition that they have improved significantly” which we are all thrilled about J

Here are some quotes taken directly from our report (the full report can be found here

“Staff develop trusting relationships with children, who feel free to talk to staff about their experiences. Children have a strong sense of belonging in the pre-school.”

“Staff are excellent role models for the children. They help children to learn how to treat each other with kindness and respect.”

“Staff demonstrate an unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in their care.”

“A well qualified and mutually supportive staff team works together to provide children with a vibrant and stimulating environment.”

“Imaginative play opportunities, both indoors and outside, are combined with skilful teaching to promote children’s good progress.”

“Parents report that their children are very happy in the pre-school. They notice the very close bonds that staff, including their child’s key person, develop with each child.”

“Staff carefully organise the provision to tailor learning experiences according to the individual needs of children”

“Staff ensure a good balance of free play and adult-led activities. They skilfully interact with children as they follow their lead during play”

“Their (the children’s) ability to listen well and concentrate is particularly noticeable.”

I for one am extremely proud (and lucky!) to do the job I do, to work with the children and families at our setting and to have the amazing staff team that we have. Big thanks have to go to all the staff for all the hard work they put in and also to all you lovely families out there (past and present) that have helped shape us into the amazing place we are now.

We have been running for over 40 years, there have been huge changes in that time - in not only the building but also in the way we work and the legal guidelines we are governed by. To me though the most important thing is to have happy and well cared for children and I think we do a pretty good job of that J Our ethos is and always will be to ‘Learn through PLAY’ which is why the children are so happy when they are with us – so here’s to the next 40 fabulous years!
