From 23rd March 2020 we are closed to all but key worker families
Details for a 'Phased return' from 1st June 2020
It’s been quite a mission, but we have finally put together a plan for our phased return from 1st June – The government are due to confirm on the 28th May that this will go ahead as planned. We have created a new policy and procedures. This message and the attached policy is full of lots of really important information about how we will do our absolute best to keep your children safe and well, while providing them with as ‘normal’ and fun time with us as we can.
Unfortunately, in order to keep our group number low (we are aiming to stay between 8-10 children a session to start with, possibly rising to 15 if things are going well and we feel all the strategies we have put in place are working) we are not able to offer all children the same amount of hours they are registered for. We have prioritised those children who are moving on to school in September, children of key workers and those other families needing childcare while they work.
The main differences and changes that you really need to be aware of are:
Drop off and collection times – these will be staggered, please make sure you are prompt arriving to drop off and collection so there is limited ‘mixing’. There will be obvious markers on the car park for you to keep 2m apart. Drop off and collection will both take place via the back gate. Parents are asked wherever possible NOT to enter the back gate, we will be there to welcome the children and take them from you if they are upset – however, if children really are distressed and you feel you want to come in to hand over then this can be arranged.
Items going backwards and forwards – To reduce the worry of transferring infection from home to setting, we ask that you bring a bag on your child’s first session that holds a full change of clothes, named drink bottle, indoor shoes, sun cream and sun hat, nappies etc if needed – these items will be transferred into a ‘Bag for life’ and will be kept at the setting and the original bag returned at the end of the day. If anything needs replacing, we will inform parents and ask that items are brought in at the next session. Please place bags and lunchboxes along the metal fence near the back gate when you arrive, we will then sanitise everything before bringing it in – then return everything back to the same place for you to collect at the end of the session.
Keeping well – Children must only attend if they are well, if they show any symptoms while are pre-school, they will be sent home straight away and will not be able to return for the specified isolation period or when a negative test has been confirmed (we will require written proof of a negative test). We will rely on parents honesty and understanding with regards to children or anyone in their household showing symptoms and needing to isolate at home – please support us in this and do not put us in a situation that might risk the health of other children or staff in the setting.
A note about paying fees - Wherever possible, please make payment for fees and consumables by direct bank transfer, if this is not possible, please put cash in a named envelope so these can be stored for 72 hours before sanitising the money. Details for bank transfer are: Name of Bank: Lloyds TSB. Sort code: 77 66 12. Account number: 21912460. Name of Account: Roydon Early Years LTD. Reference: Your child’s initial and surname
Hopefully you will see that we are putting in place every possible action or strategy we can to keep your children and the staff as safe as we absolutely can, however, I do need to reiterate that there is no way we can assure you 100% that your child will not become ill at any time while with us.
If at any time you change your mind and no longer require your child to come back then please do say – we need you to feel comfortable and happy, we absolutely understand what a difficult decision this is for parents and we definitely will not take it personally at all if children are kept safe at home.
Take care, stay well and see you soon!
